 Where we cannot use the more conservative contouring or veneers we will use crowns to correct more severely misplaced teeth. In order to fit a crown (or cap) we will first prepare your teeth. We start by reshaping the tooth into a thimble shape so the crown can fit easily over it without leaving any voids. We take impressions of the preparations and send them to a dental laboratory. The crowns are then manufactured to an incredibly high standard. We fit temporary crowns made at chair side for the 5 working days it takes to make your crowns. When the crowns are returned to us we remove the temporary crowns and fit the permanent ones. Crowns can be used to repair a single tooth or improve a whole smile.
